REVIEW 'The Shahi Nan' Stratford Road Birmingham Balti

Shahi Nan Birmingham's Best Balti

One of Birmingham's oldest Balti restaurants. Where the chef (who is still the original guy) used to cook in the Pakistani Navy! The authentic korma is legendary - (not too sweet) and where a stack of hot coal lamb chops is so delicious and so cheap that it makes a trip to Dishoom for the same seem like the plight of only curry fandom millionaires.  My personal favourite at the 'Shahi' is the Balti Keema, where the minced lamb has an other worldly smokiness. Some Stratford Road die hard kebab lover locals also claim it has the best Seekh Kebabs in Brum...

Low key and a spot for serious Balti Pilgrims...you can bring beer (Real balti houses are never usually licensed) and get in on one the favoured spots for the local Pakistani community in Brum.

Dad is a regular visitor for the past 30 years and his recent quick 2 min read review is in the link.

SHAHI NAN A QUICK LOOK

And yes that is a Birmingham Balti Bowl Company Bowl...chef knows best ;)
