Originating in Mumbai in the 60's sizzlers, inspired by Japanese hot plate cooking , the Indian sizzler became very fashionable and are used to open fry and then serve 'sizzling' your meat or vegetables, often together.
The word "sizzler" comes from the sizzle that one hears after heating the dish under a grill. The metal plate is heated to the point right before serving, that when the finished meat/veg is placed on it, it sizzles and the smoky flavour makes the dish more enticing.
The metal plate can be used in the oven, under the grill, over flame and on the BBQ.
This is a beautiful hand made item that is crafted by hand, each paddle sizzler is unique and will have small imperfections, evidence of its hand crafted nature.
